Imagining Wanderlust

Wanderlust: A strong desire to travel 🗺

Covid-19: A strong desire to stay home 🏡

We picked the name Imagine Wanderlust because we wanted a mix between our love 💕for Disney and our love for travel. Never did we dream we would literally be imagining wanderlust!!!

On a trip to Disney at the beginning of March 2020, Angela and Brian were raving about a website that alerts you of cheap airfares around the world. I was excited and immediately signed up because my husband and I were planning on traveling a few places this year. 💁🏼‍♀️As you know, a few weeks later all travel plans came to a screeching halt! However, I am still a member of that website, which is currently sending me crazy, historical, low airfares to amazing location.😩So here I am, imagining all the exotic locations I could travel to with these discounted rates, while eating an entire bag of organic Doritos. 🤷🏼‍♀️

If you have found yourself with a case of wanderlust; here are some tips to ease it:

1. Plan a trip, or two, for next year. ✈️ I’m currently planning two trips for next year.

2. Use this time to save money. 🤑Staying home has saved me a ton of money. I’m using this time to pay down debt and save money for my future travel. This will allow me to travel to places I’ve never thought I’d go!

3. Read and dream about places you’d like to go. 🤔This is a great time to explore and learn about new destinations for future travel. I am reading travel magazines and doing research on new places.

4. Cook meals from your favorite destinations. 😋I’ve been learning how to cook new meals from many different cultures. I’ve made butter chicken, braised beef tacos, Sopa de Mani, Gumbo, and Shepherds Pie. All to satisfy my desire of foods from different destinations.

5. Listen to music from different destinations. 🎵I use my cooking time to listen to music from the destination my meal originates. (Jazz while cooking gumbo, Irish drinking songs while cooking Shepherds pie, Bollywood while making butter chicken, etc.)  It’s fun and it makes me feel like I’m mentally traveling.

I can’t wait to get back out into the world and travel but I’m totally ok waiting until it’s safe!

However, in the meantime I can wistfully 😌dream about the places I’ll visit and the people I’ll meet in the years to come.
