Work has brought me to San Antonio a few times over the years. Each stay I’ve done a couple things that could easily be done over a couple days.
The San Antonio area has a little bit for everyone. It’s filled with history, fun restaurants and shopping. I’ve enjoyed nights out with friends. Especially the night we had dinner at Dicks Last Resort. If you’ve never been to this restaurant it can be a lot of fun and is certainly a different dining experience. They also have Coyote Ugly, which was one of my favorite movies when it came out. (Yes you can dance on the bar and we may have done just that. 😉)
On another visit we took a river boat. The guide told us the history of the River Walk and some of the buildings we passed by. It was around $10 and well worth it. There are booths that sell the tickets near where you will board the boat and we were brought back to where we boarded at the end. (There are also water taxis that you can take and that is on my list for a future visit.)
The Alamo is close to the River Walk and I’ve walked there a few times. On my most recent visit I noticed there was now more to explore as well as some staff dressed in historical attire. The visit to the Alamo is free and they (of course) accept donations.
I highly recommend San Antonio for a girls/guys/couples trip. There is a lot to do and it’s a beautiful place to visit.
